Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose, repair, and test a range of electrical and mechanical systems on trucks and trailers and manage parts on a service truck.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to DOT regulations, and independent scheduling, with potential for growth and hands-on diagnostics under supervision of senior technicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years in related field or 5 years experience.
• Own a set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months; DOT-related certifications may apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment with handheld tools and diagnostic devices; road test to verify repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and company vehicle; upload RO details via iOS and TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms accurately and maintain safety and compliance.
