Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems, while managing parts and documentation on a company service truck.

The role requires a HS diploma, 3–5 years in related work, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and DOT compliance.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with 3 years in related field; or 5 years in related field.
Must possess and supply hand tools required for duties.
ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge and compliance.
Must pass DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
DOT medical card with sufficient validity; or willingness to obtain.
Must be at least 21 years old and have valid driver’s license.
DQF requirements and interstate operating authority awareness.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on mobile/field units.
Repair minor electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems on trucks.
Inspect trailers: brakes, lines, liftgates, and related components.
Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems; test with appropriate instruments.
Maintain and manage parts on service truck; update Repair Orders.
Follow safety, health, and environmental policies; OSHA/EPA/DOT compliance.
