Job summary

Cox Fleet seeks a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, PMs, light to moderate repairs, and diagnostics in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on trucks and trailers, while managing parts and documenting findings on RO forms.

Qualified candidates have a HS diploma or GED, ASE T8 within 18 months, and a valid CDL/driver's license with clean MVR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or higher with related field experience.
• Possess a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• ASE certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment screening and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card valid or DOT physical required if near expiry.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid state driver’s license and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT Inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Inspect and service trailers and associated systems such as brakes, air lines and liftgates.
• Document work using RO forms via company iOS devices and TRAIT app.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Maintain and manage parts inventory on service trucks.
