Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light repairs on a mobile basis. You will work with electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems, and service trailers as part of a nationwide mobile fleet operation.

The role requires tool proficiency, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, DOT pre-employment screening, and a valid DOT medical card. You will be 21+ with a valid license and operate from a company service truck.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' related field experience or equivalent.
• Must possess and supply a full set of hand tools for required duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months is required.
• DOT pre-employment background check and DOT physical are required.
• DOT medical card with >4 months remaining acceptable in lieu of a full physical.
• Candidates must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting.
• Perform minor adjustments/repairs on electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and transmissions systems.
• Inspect and service trailer equipment including brakes, air lines, liftgates, and chassis components.
• Diagnose and repair truck and trailer systems using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain inventory and upkeep of the service truck; document work and RO details in TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms timely and communicate RO findings to management.
