Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light-to-medium repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, documenting findings on RO via TRAIT on an iOS device and ensuring DOT compliance.

This role requires a HS diploma/GED, ASE T8 within 18 months, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; may substitute with equivalent experience.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification to be obtained within 18 months.
• DOT regulatory compliance with ability to pass pre-employment checks and DOT physical.
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled DOT inspections and PMs on light–heavy vehicles in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and driveline systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment; use handheld devices and gauges for data collection.
• Document findings and work performed on Repair Orders using TRAIT app.
• Move parts and manage inventory for service activities; maintain vehicle safety checks.
• Coordinate with management for repair estimates and approvals; ensure safety/compliance.
