Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and transmission systems, including trailer components, with supervision from senior technicians.

Tools, safety, and precise documentation are essential to success. Qualified candidates have a HS diploma or GED, ASE certifications, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with related field experience (3 years) or 5 years in related field.
• Must own a set of hand tools necessary for required duties.
• Possess ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA background check and valid DOT medical card requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy trucks in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, transmission, and other systems.
• Inspect trailers; perform welding, fabrication, and panel/body work as needed.
• Document RO findings and parts used using TRAIT app on an iOS device.
• Complete DOT forms timely and maintain safety checks and daily prep/post-trip inspections.
