Job summary

Cox Fleet, a leading mobile fleet maintenance provider, is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose complex issues, test and road-test vehicles, and manage parts on a company truck while documenting findings in our TRAIT app.

Requirements include a HS diploma, 3–5 years of related experience, and ASE T8 certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required; 3 years' field experience OR 5 years in related field
• Must supply a set of hand tools
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months
• DOT/FMCSA background screen and DOT physical required
• DOT medical card valid or renewal required
• 21+ years old; valid state driver's license
• Class C Driver's License required

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light–heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and related systems
• Inspect and test equipment, listen for malfunctions with diagnostic tools
• Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and safety
• Manage parts on service truck and document work on RO using TRAIT app
• Complete DOT forms and maintain accurate records
• Work independently with daily schedule and prioritize tasks
• Obtain parts from local and national vendors as needed
• Communicate with management for approvals on estimates and purchase orders
