Job summary

Cox Fleet, headquartered in Indianapolis, is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and document findings using our TRAIT app on an iOS device.

The role requires a HS diploma/GED, 3 years of related experience (or 5 years alternative), ASE certifications, and a valid DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• Safety-conscious mindset and adherence to DOT regulations.
• Ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Willingness to obtain ASE certifications within stated timeline.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and scheduled PMs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Conduct minor repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect trailers, liftgates, brakes, air lines, and related components.
• Document work performed with RO details using mobile devices.
• Maintain service truck and conduct pre-/post-trip safety checks.
• Coordinate with customers and management to obtain approvals and parts.
