Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in a field/mobile environment. Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical, brakes, cooling systems and engines, notifying managers of RO findings, and maintaining the service truck and parts inventory.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED with 3 years of related experience (or equivalent), ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and a valid DOT/FMCSA

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience, or equivalent.
Own a set of hand tools.
ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months and DOT/FMCSA compliance.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems on trucks and trailers.
Inspect, test and document work with company tools and TRAIT app; communicate findings to support teams.
Road test vehicles to verify repairs and accuracy of diagnostics.
Manage parts inventory on service trucks and obtain approvals for repairs.
