Job summary

Cox Fleet seeks a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs, and light repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose and service trucks and trailers, maintain tools and documentation, and work with our team to meet safety and performance standards.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, tool set, and ASE/T8 certification within 18 months, plus valid DOT considerations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or higher in related field; or equivalent experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations apply; pre-employment background check and DOT physical may be required.
• DOT medical card accepted in lieu of DOT physical if valid.
• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license with clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on trucks and trailers.
• Maintain service truck and tools, document outputs on RO via TRAIT app, and manage parts from vendors.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals for repair estimates and purchase orders.
• Work independently with strong time management and safety adherence.
