Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems on trucks and trailers, while maintaining service documentation and parts inventory.

The role requires HS diploma/GED, ASE T8 within 18 months, and DOT compliance, with a focus on safety and efficiency in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years' related field experience or 5 years' related field experience acceptable.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA compliance background check and DOT physical required or valid DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on electrical, brake, cooling, engine and transmission systems in trucks and trailers.
• Inspect, test, and road-test vehicles to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Maintain and manage parts inventory for service trucks and document activities via TRAIT app and RO forms.
