Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will handle electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems on trucks and trailers, with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The role requires working 10am–6:30pm Tue–Sat, a HS diploma/GED with 3+ years in the field, and ASE certs within 18 months. You’ll use TRAIT and handheld tools, maintain a truck, and coordinate with customers and

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 3 years’ related experience.
• Alternate combinations with higher degree or 5 years’ related experience.
• Own a set of hand tools to perform duties.
• ASE certification within 18 months.
• Position follows DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Must pass DOT medical exam or have card; DOT card validity rules apply.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and MVR check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Carry out minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, engine and suspension systems.
• Diagnose and repair trailers and associated equipment incl. brakes, air lines, pumps, liftgates, and chassis.
• Test and road-test vehicles to verify proper operation after service work.
• Maintain service truck and daily pre-/post-trip safety inspections.
