Job summary

Rush Enterprises Inc. is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support clients at their locations. You will maintain fleets, perform service calls on site, manage service-truck inventory, and collaborate with the Service Manager to schedule duties.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude and at least 5 years in Class 7/8 truck service. CDL is preferred but not required. We offer a robust Total Rewards package, healthcare, a 401(k) with company match, and opportunities for

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by the FMVSS.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred & rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections as assigned.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager with assigned duties daily.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and an open work schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle malfunctions to plan work procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunction and perform repair procedures.
• Perform diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
• Check safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Provide proper lubrication and verify repairs meet specifications.
• Document and submit necessary paperwork timely.
