Job summary

Rush Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to service client fleets on-site. You will perform diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks, with after-hours availability as needed.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, 5+ years as a Class 7/8 technician, and ASE/Cummins training is a plus. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered with Rush Truck Centers across the US.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, ASE certifications are preferred & rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and required inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for the vehicle.
• Report to the Service Manager and follow daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the tools for the work required in maintaining diesel trucks and equipment
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle operation to plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment and information to perform correct repairs.
• Diagnosis, removal and replacement of injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, and transmissions.
• Complete diagnostic and documentation functions on company computer system.
• Inspect guards, bolts and safety devices; make adjustments.
• Lubricate parts and verify repairs meet specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Document work performed in mobile service program accurately.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise on repairs to be performed within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
