Job summary

Rush Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our customers by maintaining fleets and handling on-site service calls at client locations.

You will work with a variety of truck brands within a large network, with opportunities for growth and ongoing training. The role requires 5 years of Class 7 & 8 technician experience, a valid CDL preferred, and ASE certifications are valued.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by the FMVS.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred & rewarded

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and required inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and will be assigned duties daily.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and be available for an open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for the work required in maintaining diesel engine trucks and related equipment.
• Read job orders and observe vehicle operation to plan work procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunction and perform correct repair procedures.
• Diagnose, remove and replace components such as injectors, pistons, liners, bearings, and transmissions.
• Perform diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
• Inspect safety guards and devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Document and submit paperwork or enter into mobile service program accurately and timely.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding the work and foster positive relations.
• Advise customer/service writer on repairs to be performed within the next 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply training to work tasks.
