Job summary

Rush Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support customers by maintaining fleets and handling service calls at client locations, delivering expedited on-site expertise for trucks and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability required.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and ensure inspections are performed and documented.
• Manage inventory on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and follow daily assignments.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and flexible scheduling.
• Maintain and inventory tools for diesel truck maintenance.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle malfunctions to plan work procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment and information to perform repairs.
• Repair components such as injectors, pistons, bearings, transmissions, and more.
• Complete diagnostic and documentation in the company system.
• Inspect safety devices and secure vehicle adjustments as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs by test drive.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Submit paperwork accurately and timely in mobile service program.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise on repairs to be performed within the next 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
