Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, document findings, and support customers with efficient service.

The role requires ASE certifications, DOT compliance, and the ability to work independently while meeting safety standards. Weekend availability may be required in response to client requests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and relevant field experience, or equivalent combination.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
• Valid DOT medical card or ability to obtain one during employment.
• Valid driver’s license with interstate authority and safe driving record.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Test and adjust truck equipment and perform road tests to verify repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and document work on RO using iOS device and TRAIT app.
• Maintain safety checks and perform pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with management and customers to obtain approvals and discuss RO findings.
