Job summary

Cox Fleet, headquartered in Indianapolis, operates mobile on-site fleet maintenance nationwide with 50+ service centers. We seek a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light to heavy repairs in a field setting.

You will handle diagnostic tasks, parts management, and documentation using our TRAIT app, while meeting safety and regulatory standards. This role offers growth through hands-on training and a clear career path.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years in related field, or 5 years experience in related field.
• Own a set of hand tools for job duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
• Must pass DOT/ FMCSA background screen and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card acceptable if >4 months remaining; otherwise a DOT physical required.
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose using handheld computers and pressure gauges; road test to verify repairs.
• Manage parts and inventory and document findings in RO via TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms promptly and maintain safety inspections.
