Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced repairs in a mobile/field setting. Heavily relied upon for diagnostics and triage, you will lead on-site work and coordinate with customers to ensure service quality.

Responsibilities include diagnosing complex issues, managing parts, and documenting findings via RO and TRAIT app, while maintaining safety and compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years' experience in a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• DOT/ FMCSA regulations and safety trainings are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems on trucks.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Road test vehicles to verify proper operation after repairs and maintenance.
• Manage parts inventory on company trucks and document RO findings.
• Comply with safety, health and environmental policies and DOT regulations.
