Job summary

Cox Fleet seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs in the field. You will diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems on various trucks, using hand and diesel tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; 3 years related field experience or 5 years equivalent.
• Possess set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
• This position follows DOT/FMCSA regulations; must pass pre-employment background and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card must be valid (or within grace period).
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light–heavy vehicles in a mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and drive-train systems.
• Test, listen to, and diagnose malfunctions; road-test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper operation.
• Independently manage parts inventory and document repairs in RO using company iOS TRAIT app.
• Adhere to safety policies and DOT regulations; maintain vehicle and tools.
• Coordinate with clients and management for approvals on repair estimates and orders.
