Job summary

Cox Fleet is recruiting a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs and light/Moderate repairs in a mobile/field setting. The role requires diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, test driving, and maintaining service truck readiness.

You will work with a team to ensure safety, efficiency, and timely completion of repairs across client locations nationwide. The position emphasizes high productivity, independent scheduling, and adherence to DOT

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED with 3 years' related field experience or 5 years' related field experience.
• Must supply a set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT background check and DOT physical required prior to employment.
• DOT medical card validity must be >4 months or a DOT physical will be required.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid state license.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File; Class C license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections and repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine and transmission systems.
• Test and road-test vehicles to verify proper operation after service.
• Manage parts inventory on the service truck and document findings on RO using company devices.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and timely.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals and discuss RO findings.
