Job summary

Cox Fleet, a national mobile fleet maintenance leader, seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light repairs in a field/mobile environment. This role requires diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems and performing maintenance across light to heavy-duty vehicles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years in a related field or 5 years of related work experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months; DOT/FMCSA regulated pre-employment checks.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various vehicle classes in field/mobile settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, transmission, and HVAC systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment using handheld devices and pressure gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and reconcile stock on service trucks.
• Document work, upload RO photos, and complete DOT forms in a timely manner.
• Maintain safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections; comply with DOT/OSHA policies.
• Communicate with management for approvals, PO numbers, and RO findings.
