Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs in a mobile/field environment across light to heavy-duty trucks. You will diagnose, repair, and test multiple systems while managing parts on a company service truck.

A strong safety emphasis and independent scheduling are required. Responsibilities include vehicle road tests, documentation on RO via TRAIT app, and adherence to DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience, or 5 years’ related field experience.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Must meet DOT/FMCSA requirements including background and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, and related systems.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, engine, transmission, and other truck systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment using diagnostic tools and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory on the service vehicle and reconcile stock regularly.
