Job summary

Cox Fleet By Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light-to-mid repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, manage parts on a service truck, and document findings using TRAIT on an iOS device.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED and 3 years related experience (or 5 years in related field); ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field OR 5 years’ related field experience.
• Own a set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• DOT/FMCSA requirements: able to pass pre-employment and have DOT medical card or pass DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose, repair, and adjust diesel vehicle systems (electrical, brakes, cooling, engines, transmissions, HVAC).
• Inspect and test equipment; road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Maintain and manage parts inventory on the service truck; document work orders and findings in TRAIT app.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals and update RO details.
