Job summary

Cox Fleet by Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light-to-medium repairs in a mobile field setting. You will diagnose electrical and mechanical systems, test drive vehicles, manage parts inventory, and document work using the TRAIT app.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, ASE T8 within 18 months, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED with related field experience.
• Pass DOT pre-employment background check and DOT physical when required.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months if not already held.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DQC file.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PM on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, diesel, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose issues.
• Manage parts inventory and document repairs via company app and RO forms.
• Maintain service truck and ensure safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
