Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to heavy repair work in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose, repair, and test vehicles, progressing under supervision to higher skills levels.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a Driver Qualification File. Safety and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' related experience, or 5 years' related field experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screen and DOT physical required if applicable.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical/ brake/ cooling systems, engines, and transmissions.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Inspect, test, and document findings using handheld devices and RO paperwork.
• Manage parts inventory and service truck inventory; obtain parts from vendors as needed.
• Document RO findings with photos in TRAIT app and maintain safety checks.
