Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems on light to heavy-duty trucks; manage parts in the service truck and document findings in the TRAIT app.

The role requires a HS diploma/GED with 3 years’ related experience (or a higher qualification) and ASE T8 certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• Possess a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
• Oversee safety and DOT compliance in field service work.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy vehicles in a mobile environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot equipment using handheld devices and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory on service truck and document work orders in TRAIT.
• Communicate with clients to assess needs and obtain approvals for estimates.
