Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to moderate repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues, perform road tests, and document work using the TRAIT app on an iOS device.

Requirements include HS diploma or GED, 3 years in related field or 5 years in related field, ASE T8 within 18 months, and a valid DOT‑capable driver’s license.

Qualifications

HS diploma or GED required; related discipline degree/certifications acceptable
ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DOT background and physical

Responsibilities

Perform PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy‑duty trucks in a mobile/field environment.
Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
Test and road‑test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
Inspect, document, and communicate RO findings using company tools.
Coordinate with customers and management to obtain approvals and estimates.
