Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose, repair, and test heavy-/light-duty trucks with a focus on safety and compliance, while maintaining documentation and parts inventory.

Under supervision you will advance your mechanical skills, work with a team, and meet performance metrics. Expect a demanding but rewarding field role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years related experience or 5 years related experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
• Must pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card acceptable if valid > 4 months; otherwise required DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, engines, transmissions, and related components.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and procurement for repairs.
• Complete DOT forms and repair order documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
