Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. Candidates will diagnose a range of electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems and must maintain tools and a company service vehicle.

The role requires independent scheduling, strong problem solving, and the ability to work with clients to meet their expectations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years related experience or 5 years in related field.
• Own set of hand tools necessary to perform duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification to be obtained within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• DOT medical card validity must exceed four months or a DOT physical will be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect, test and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using appropriate tools.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and supply chain for service trucks.
• Document work using company iOS device and TRAIT app, including RO notes and parts.
• Comply with DOT, OSHA, EPA and company safety policies.
