Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive in Pawtucket, RI is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light and advanced repairs, and diagnostics in a mobile field setting, working closely with customers. You will lead on jobsites, coordinate parts and approvals, adhere to DOT regulations, and document work using TRAIT app.

A HS diploma and 3+ years in related field are required; ASE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years in a related field, or 5 years in related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Must supply own hand tools.
• OEM training and certifications preferred.
• DOT/FMCSA compliance and DOT medical card requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Document findings and parts used; upload to TRAIT app.
• Manage parts inventory and coordinate with management for approvals.
• Maintain company vehicle and perform pre/post trip inspections.
