Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to support on-site fleet maintenance across Rhode Island. You will perform DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks in a mobile/field setting, with a focus on advanced diagnostics and customer service.

Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical, cooling, and engine systems, documenting findings in the TRAIT app, and coordinating parts with vendors while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years related field experience or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment
• Own set of hand tools
• DOT/FMCSA training and certifications preferred
• Complete required company training and maintain safety compliance

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment
• Diagnose and repair electrical, cooling, and engine systems
• Inspect, test, and diagnose defective equipment using handheld instruments
• Document work on Repair Orders using TRAIT app on iOS device
• Communicate with customers and manage parts as needed
• Maintain and operate company service vehicle and perform pre-/post-trip inspections
