Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced diagnostics in a mobile/field setting. You will act as a lead on jobsites, coordinating repairs and communicating with customers to ensure high-quality service.

The role requires experience with heavy‑duty diesel systems, safety compliance, and the ability to work independently with company-issued tools and TRAIT app documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with related experience.
• 3+ years in a related field or 5 years with alternative combination.
• ASE T8 (PMI) and ASE 608/609 certifications required within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT medical card per FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems; use test instruments and handheld devices.
• Road-test vehicles to verify repairs and investigate malfunctions.
• Independently manage parts inventory and document work using the TRAIT app and RO forms.
• Coordinate with customers and management to obtain approvals and discuss RO findings.
