Job summary

Cox Fleet in Newport, RI, is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and advanced repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on light to heavy trucks, with a leadership role on local sites.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of related experience (or equivalent) and preferred ASE certifications. Benefits include weekly pay, training, and safety-related reimbursements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years’ related experience or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with refrigerated equipment.
• A current DOT medical card and DOT/FMCSA compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on mobile vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect and road-test vehicles to verify proper operation after service.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of service truck and tools.
