Job summary

CoxFleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and work with a team to ensure rapid, safe repairs.

Responsibilities include road testing, parts sourcing, and documenting findings in the RO system using TRAIT on an iOS device. OSHA/DOT compliance and safety are prioritized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months
• Ability to perform PM inspections and DOT checks in field
• Requires hands-on mechanical skills across electrical, brakes, engine systems

Responsibilities

• Perform PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings
• Diagnose and repair electrical/ braking/ cooling/ engine systems
• Road test vehicles and verify proper operation after repairs
• Manage parts inventory and company vehicle responsibilities
• Document work on Repair Orders using iOS device and TRAIT app
• Complete DOT forms accurately and timely
