Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and complex repairs for a mobile fleet. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic and electronic systems, manage parts and document work via an iOS device using TRAIT software, while maintaining safety standards.

The role emphasizes independent scheduling, on-site service, and strong diagnostic skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and rapid turnaround in a field environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years related experience.
• 3+ years experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own hand tools required to perform duties.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge and DOT pre-employment requirements.
• ASE T8 (PMI) and ASE 608/609 certifications within 18 months.
• ASE T2/T3/T4 etc certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine and transmission systems on trucks.
• Inspect, test and diagnose defective equipment using instruments and handheld devices.
• Road test vehicles to verify repair quality and functionality.
• Maintain company vehicle and manage parts inventory and daily schedule.
