Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics on a mobile/field basis. You will repair electrical and mechanical systems, test and road-test vehicles, and document findings via the TRAIT app on an iOS device.

The role emphasizes independent scheduling, safety compliance, and customer-facing leadership on sites, with opportunities for professional ASE certifications and career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years related field experience.
• At least 3 years experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations compliance and DOT medical card requirement.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DOT background check.
• ASE T8 (PMI) and ASE 608/609 certifications within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Test and road-test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Document work on RO using TRAIT app and iOS device.
• Coordinate parts and approvals with management.
• Maintain safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
