Job summary

Cox Fleet seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced repairs in a dynamic field/onsite setting. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems, road-test vehicles, and provide expert technical support as a lead on jobsites.

Responsibilities include maintaining service trucks, managing parts, and documenting findings using TRAIT on an iOS device.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field or equivalent combo
• At least 3 years’ experience with refrigerated equipment
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties
• DOT/FMCSA training or certifications preferred
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required
• Must be at least 21 years old with valid driver’s license
• Current DOT medical card with >4 months remaining acceptable in lieu of a DOT physical
• A strong safety mindset and ability to pass regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and troubleshoot malfunctions
• Manage parts inventory for service trucks and coordinate with vendors
• Document work using iOS devices and TRAIT app, including RO notes and photos
• Maintain safety and compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations
