Job summary

Cox Automotive, through Cox Fleet, seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs in a field setting.

You will operate from a company‑issued service truck, visit multiple sites, and bring your own tools while maintaining high safety and compliance standards. Take home the service truck daily and enjoy 24/7/365 support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with 3 years of related field experience; or 5 years in related field.
• Must supply a set of hand tools.
• ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT background screening and DOT physical as required by FMCSA.
• DOT medical card acceptable in lieu of physical if valid.
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide mobile service and maintenance for light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Perform PMs and DOT inspections; follow up repairs.
• Diagnose and repair truck equipment, including electrical, braking, cooling, and engine subsystems.
• Road test and verify repairs; document findings and RO on an iOS device.
• Manage parts inventory on the service truck and coordinate with customers.
