Job summary

Cox Fleet, a Cox Automotive business, seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs in a field setting. You’ll work independently with a company vehicle and potential for a new hire bonus, while supporting a nationwide network of service centers and providers.

Responsibilities include PMs, DOT inspections, electrical and diesel system repairs, and responsive customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 3 years’ related experience, or equivalent.
• ASE certification path preferred for DMV compliance and safety.
• Must supply a set of hand tools.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various vehicle classes in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and diesel systems.
• Inspect, test, and road-test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and company-issued service truck.
• Complete DOT forms and documentation promptly.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on estimates and RO findings.
