Job summary

Cox Fleet, a Cox Automotive business, is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on a range of trucks and trailers in a mobile/field setting.

You'll operate with an assigned service vehicle, travel schedule, and a $3,000 new hire bonus. Expect independent work, strong safety practices, and proactive communication with clients and management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ related field experience, or 5 years in related field.
• Supply a complete set of hand tools required to perform duties.
• Obtain ASE PMI (T8) certification within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulation compliance; pass pre-employment background and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify proper operation post-repair.
• Manage parts inventory on company truck and reconcile regularly.
• Document findings and parts used in RO via TRAIT on iOS device.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation promptly.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals and PO numbers.
• Maintain service vehicle and perform pre/post-trip inspections.
