Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose, adjust, and repair complex systems with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, experience with electrical and mechanical systems, and the ability to work independently in a mobile environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years' related field experience, or 5 years' related field experience.
• ASE T8 certification within 18 months.
• DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass required checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment including electrical, braking, and cooling systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments and handheld devices.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
