Job summary

Cox Fleet, a Cox Automotive company, is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II- DOT to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on commercial trucks and trailers.

You will work in a flexible schedule, travel to multiple service centers, and take home the assigned service vehicle. This role emphasizes independent work, safety, and customer service in the field.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years related experience, or degree with 1 year related work, or 5 years related work without degree.
• Own a personal set of hand tools.
• Ability to obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months of employment.
• Must pass DOT/FMCSA pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs.
• Diagnose and repair truck systems including electrical, brakes, cooling, transmissions, and HVAC.
• Use diagnostic tools and handheld devices to test and document findings.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and safe operation.
• Maintain service truck, manage parts and inventory, and document work.
