Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs at customer sites as part of a distributed fleet service. You will operate a company vehicle and handle field service for light to heavy-duty trucks, ensuring safety and reliability.

The role offers on-site field work with a daytime schedule, competitive hourly pay, and opportunities for growth within Cox Fleet services.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience, or 5 years without a degree.
• Must own personal hand tools.
• Ability to obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background check and physical required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair various truck systems (electrical, brakes, cooling, starters/alternators, AC, etc.).
• Use hand tools, diagnostic equipment and test gear to inspect and troubleshoot vehicle systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and safety.
• Maintain company service truck and telematics unit, manage parts and inventory.
