Job summary

Cox Fleet is recruiting Mobile Diesel Technicians to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs in customer locations nationwide. This role requires working in mobile/field environments with heavy-duty trucks and adherence to DOT regulations, safety policies, and company procedures.

The Mobile Diesel Technician I role focuses on diagnostics, testing, and triage on a schedule-driven basis, with independence and client-facing responsibilities.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; 3+ years related experience (or 5 years alternative).
At least 3 years with refrigerated equipment.
DOT/FMCSA compliance and background check.
DOT medical card current or 4 months remaining may require renewal.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems on trucks and trailers.
Document work using company systems and upload RO findings, parts used, and photos.
Coordinate with management for estimates, approvals and PO numbers.
Maintain safety checks and ensure completion of pre-/post-trip inspections.
