Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs on fleets in a mobile/field setting. You’ll diagnose mechanical and electrical systems and work with a team to meet performance standards.

The role emphasizes independent scheduling, inventory management, and timely documentation using TRAIT on an iOS device. 100% field-based work with a Tuesday–Saturday shift.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with 3 years’ related experience; or 5 years’ related experience.
• Must supply a set of hand tools to perform duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical required.
• DOT medical card valid or valid for renewal; 21+ years old; valid state DL.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to faults using handheld tools and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Manage parts inventory on service truck and upload RO details via TRAIT.
• Complete DOT forms and maintain documentation promptly.
