Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, perform road tests, and document outcomes using our TRAIT application.

The role emphasizes independent work, safe vehicle operation, and adherence to company policies while maintaining productivity across multiple service calls and customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues in a mobile/field environment.
• Document work performed, parts used, and findings in Repair Orders using company systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Repair and adjust electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and drive-train systems as needed.
• Diagnose malfunctions with test instruments and road-test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Maintain and manage parts inventory and company-issued service vehicle safety checks.
• Document findings and results in Repair Orders and ensure timely completion of DOT forms.
• Work independently with strong scheduling and prioritization of tasks.
