Job summary

CoxFleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose, repair, and service equipment, and document work using an iOS device and TRAIT app.

A strong focus on safety, accuracy, and customer communication is required. The role requires ASE T8 certification within 18 months, valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years in a related field or 5 years in a related field.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment requirements including background screen and DOT medical clearance.
• Valid driver’s license, at least 21 years old, and a Class C license if required.
• Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand and perform moderately heavy labor for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Carry out minor repairs and diagnostics on electrical, brakes, cooling and engine systems.
• Inspect, test and diagnose equipment with handheld tools and diagnostic devices.
• Document work performed with photos and RO notes using company-provided devices.
• Coordinate with management for repair estimates and approvals.
• Maintain service vehicle, safety checks, and daily pre/post trip inspections.
