Job summary

Cox Fleet seeks an experienced Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose and repair systems across light to heavy-duty trucks and document work using our TRAIT app.

Expect responsibilities including road tests, parts procurement, and coordination with management for approvals. 21+ driving, DOT compliance, and ASE T8 readiness within 18 months are required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED plus 3 years related experience, or 5 years related field experience.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Must meet DOT/FMCSA requirements and DOT medical qualification.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, cooling, braking, engine, and hydraulic systems on trucks.
• Test and road-test vehicles to ensure proper operation after service.
• Manage parts inventory and document work with Repair Orders using TRAIT app.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals and discuss RO findings.
