Job summary

Cox Fleet by Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. You’ll diagnose a range of systems on trucks, manage parts on the service truck, and ensure safety and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires ASE/T8 within 18 months, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years related field experience, or 5 years alternate experience.
• Must possess and provide a set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems; use test instruments and handheld devices.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and document RO findings; communicate with management to obtain approvals.
